What is a Visual Novel?

It's a Story with pictures, music and sometimes animation that you 'download' and 'play' on your computer. Some of them even have voices. You play them like a Game.

Visual Novels come in many flavors. A lot of them tend to be some sort of dating simulation game, but many more are actual role-playing games.
